Artificial intelligence demystified!
Thursday, December 11, and Friday, December 12, 2025
Reserved for Luxembourg schools / Elementary C4 and High Schools
In recent years, increasingly powerful artificial intelligence algorithms have been developed. Their performance is remarkable, and they can do many things: write texts, create images, produce videos, songs, entire websites, detect objects and people almost instantly, and much more. But how do they do it? And what are their limitations? Are the results reliable?
During AI Days, the Luxembourg Science Center will be entirely dedicated to this revolutionary technology. In collaboration with the Scienteens Lab and the Ministry of Equality, we will break down AI algorithms to reveal what really goes on inside their “artificial brains.”
We offer 4 booking slots:
- Thursday, December 11, morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Thursday, December 11, afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Friday, December 12, morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Friday, December 12, afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You can choose between two programs:
Option 1, available in LU, FR, DE, or EN (3 classes per time slot):
- « Are computers blind ? » (45’) : How can a computer see and identify what is in an image? During a hands-on activity, you will learn how a neural network analyzes information in an image to detect different things.
- « Human vs AI » (45’) : Be alert and careful, because you are about to engage in a duel with an AI. Don't get fooled!
Option 2, available in LU, FR, DE ou EN (1 class per time slot) :
- « Alexa, why are you a woman? » (90’) : Algorithms can be biased and discriminatory. This workshop explains what artificial intelligence is and how intelligent machines learn. Machines can also learn to discriminate against humans based on their gender or origin. The question arises as to how to solve this problem and who is responsible for doing so.
We are also pleased to welcome three interactive stations from the Scienteens Lab dedicated to artificial intelligence in our exploration room. Here you will find an electronic brain that simulates how a computer can recognize a vertical line in an image, an activity that explains the calculations of such a system, and a quiz in which you have to distinguish between an original image and one generated by AI.
