Where is the Luxembourg Science Center located ?

The Luxembourg Science Center is located in Differdange, 1. Rue John Ernest Dolibois, L-4573

When is the Luxembourg Science Center open?

During the week the LSC is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On weekends and public holidays (Luxembourg), the LSC is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m

The Luxembourg Science Center is closed on: January 1 and December 25-26

Is it open on weekends and public holidays ?

Apart from January 1 & December 25-26, the LSC is open all weekends and holidays included.

During the week the LSC is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On weekends and public holidays (Luxembourg), the LSC is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Can we come by public transport?

Yes, a train station and a bus stop are nearby.

Are there parking lots nearby?

Yes, there is public parking near the center.

Is there a coatroom ?

Yes, a free coatroom is available inside the center to store your belongings. As this is not secure, it is still recommended that you do not store valuables there.

Is there a picnic area?

Yes, a picnic area is available to visitors.

Exploration & Shows

Without being accompanied, at what age can we visit the Luxembourg Science Center?

At 16 years old you can come unaccompanied.

What age is recommended for the exploration room and Science Shows?

For the large exploration room with nearly 100 experimental stations, there is no age restriction. Regarding Science Shows, children ages 6 and up are allowed to participate. Note that access to the “Kitchen Lab” is allowed for children ages 8 and up.

How long does it take to visit the exploration room ?

On average, it is estimated that it would take about 3 hours to tour the experimental stations. However, this is relative depending on how much time each visitor spends at each station.

How long is a Science Show?

On average, the duration of a Science Show is 45min to 1 hour.

The experimental stations & Science Shows are presented in which language?

The majority of our stations are accompanied by touch screens in five languages (French, English, German, Luxembourgish and Portuguese).
The Science Shows are presented in four languages (French, English, German and Luxembourgish). Please refer to the show program.

Is it possible to organize a birthday party at the LSC?

Yes, it is possible to organize a birthday at the Luxembourg Science Center.

What are the group rates?

For the Luxembourg public school system, the Science Center and its "Science Shows" are free.
Other schools, private schools or “leisure groups” can consult the preferential rates here: Groups.
A reservation is nevertheless required: reservations@science-center.lu  / Tel. : (+352) 288 399-27 / Mon - Fr 9h00 to 17h00

Ticketing

Do you accept the KulturPass?

Yes, working in the fight against social exclusion and its various dimensions, such as access to culture, the Luxembourg Science Center offers Kulturpass beneficiaries free access to its premises.

I bought my ticket online, but I will no longer be able to come to the Luxembourg Science Center. Can I be refunded?

In this case, we ask that you contact our reception, who will be able to assist you. Tel: +352 28 83 99 1 (9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays / 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekends and public holidays).A refund will not be possible, but we can help postpone your visit to a later date, depending on availability.

What are the advantages of buying the ticket online?

The online ticket allows you to optimize the planning of your exploration. As your visit is recorded in our system, the reception procedure will be accelerated.
In addition, an "eTicket" will be sent to you by email with all the practical information (Access plan and more ...)

Is the entry free for children?

Yes, the entry is free for children under the age of 6.

I bought my ticket online, but I did not receive a confirmation email. What do I do ?

In this case, we invite you to contact our reception, who will be able to help you.

What is the price of the tickets?

The “adult (18-65 years)” ticket costs € 15.

The “child (6-17 years)” and “Senior (+66 years)” ticket costs € 9.

Entrance is free for children under 6 years old.

Note that, depending on availability, Science Shows are included free of charge in the ticket. This does not apply to the "KitchenLab Show" = supplement of 4 €.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed. Exception granted for service dogs.

Can we be part of the volunteer staff? How to apply?

Can we film or take pictures?

Yes, you may film/take photos in the Luxembourg Science Center.However, this is not recommended during Science Shows. During the Shows, always remember to ask the scientific mediator for approval.

How can I make a donation to the Luxembourg Science Center?

Since the Science Center is a private institution, we depend on the goodwill of the general public to enable us to fulfill our mission: "To put science and new technologies within the reach of everyone", which requires financial means. Consequently. Your donations and contributions, even the smallest, will be appreciated. More info here

Is there a WIFI network on site?

Yes, a public WIFI network is available to visitors.

What about access for people with reduced mobility?

Access for people with reduced mobility is facilitated and the majority of our interactive stations are height adjustable.
